Relaxing Reiki Sessions at the Rocci Tree

Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) is Japanese for universal life energy and is also a word used to describe a system of natural healing. This tradition was founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication.

Practitioners believe that we live in a world of energy that nourishes and maintains all living things, and that when this energy flows uninterrupted there is balance and harmony within and around us, meaning we experience a sense of wellbeing. Energy medicine aims to help our flow of energy and remove any blockages in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure.

What happens in a Reiki session?

Practitioners will typically give Reiki treatment in a peaceful, private setting. However, the treatment can take place anywhere. During a session, the client will sit in a comfortable chair or lie on a table, fully clothed. The practitioner will then place their hands lightly on or over specific areas of the client’s head and body. The sensations felt during a session are unique to the individual, but people often feel warmth or tingling from the area around the practitioner’s hands or sometimes notice colours behind the eyes.

A Reiki session can help you to find peace within, giving you the time to unwind and find the best way forward for your greatest good.

Sessions are available with Mary on Mondays in the Downstairs Studio at The Forster Institute, 5.30pm or 8pm. Other time slots may be possible upon request.
