The Rocci Tree

Introducing the Pilates Magic Circle to classes!

The magic circle story is a funny one! The development of the magic circle was wholly the responsibility of Joseph Pilates himself. The story goes that he enjoyed drinking beer at the studio he ran in New York, and would regularly take deliveries of traditional beer kegs. One day, he took one of the metal rings from a keg and added a couple of wooden blocks opposite each other. He then experimented with exercises which used pushing, pulling and circling actions with this new piece of 'equipment'.
Thankfully, these days the magic circle is much more lightweight and ergonomic.

Performing magic circle exercises will target the upper body, lower body and will improve your posture and core stability while also strengthening the various muscle groups in your upper body.

Magic circle exercises can help improve posture and prevent back, neck and shoulder pain - you know, those aches and pains that we get that we just put down to 'old age'.

Side effects of 'old age' are optional if you start to move and improve your body now. It's never too late to start!

Joseph Pilates once said: "Be in control of your body and not at its mercy."

She will help you learn the appropriate way to bend, to cultivate flexibility and strength, using both stability and mobility in your spine as well as in your shoulders.
