The Yoga:

Refresh yourself by indulging in a weekend of Metta (kindness) yoga. Feel the stresses of everyday life float away. This weekend promises to be a soothing mix of yoga, meditation, and pranayama. You will leave this weekend feeling lighter and brighter.

The Unique Stuff:

Whether you are a seasoned yogi, Teacher in Training or a complete beginner, Rocci and her team are well equipped to offer everyone a practise they can learn from and be happy with. We will offer lots of options and encouragement to go to a level that suits you. Our philosophy is that everyone can enjoy the feelings and benefits that yoga offers. We really want everyone to have a great weekend and feel passionate that our Teachers in Training should learn from a whole range of people and bodies. So, we love to run our retreats for our Teachers in Training, but more importantly, everybody.

The Venue:

Riverside Lifestyle began when the doors to Riverside Cottage opened. The spacious Hampshire hideaway has been featured in, amongst others, ”The Sunday Times’ Great British Holiday Rentals’.

With its exposed beams, flagstone floors, open fireplaces, and roses around the door, the cottage has long been a refuge from the stresses of everyday life.

How to find Riverside Cottage:

By Train:

Andover Station is 10 minutes away and Winchester Station is 20 minutes. Please let us know if you need to arrange a lift/taxi from the station and we can organise car shares.

By Car:

Riverside is located in Hampshire, off the A303 going west. From the M25 (or if coming from London you can go straight to the M3) take M3 to junction 8 and follow the A303.

It is best to come off at the Bransbury turning,  (you can go via Barton Stacey Village but this will take longer). You will find this while travelling west towards Andover (if you are coming from the opposite direction you will need to come off at Barton Stacey then come back on yourself, back onto the A303 in the West direction).

Once off the A303, go along the lane, over a small bridge and you will arrive at Riverside Cottage. When you see a set of brown gates, approach them slowly and they will open automatically.

The Accommodation:

There is a large private garden, and an opportunity to rent the swimming pool lodge area as part of your stay. It is the best place we know to really switch off and leave the world behind. Riverside Cottage is a home away from home, and we would love to welcome you and your friends.

It has been refurbished to make the most of its light and space, without detracting from its original features, like the characterful thatched roof and stone floors. There have been a few new additions, with an outside breakfast terrace and the expansion of the swimming pool area, perfectly situated to overlook the lavender, and a purpose-built Studio overlooking the River Dever.

The Activities:

Friday is Teachers in Training day. This retreat’s module is our Canopy module – our focus will be on Pratayhara (sense withdrawal), Meditation, and Pranyama (breathing practises).

Saturday and Sunday are open to all and are all about soothing our nervous system, nurturing new habits, time for you to reconnect with your true self, be kind and be happy. You are welcome to arrive in time for dinner on Friday evening.

On offer are up to four classes a day;

  • gentle stretch and breath to wake us up
  • metta (kindness) yoga to nourish and nurture us
  • restorative and yoga Nidra

Throughout the weekend there will be chats on a different related subject, everyone is welcome to attend these.

For our Teachers in Training, there will be a couple of short sessions on these days to give us focus during class, this helps to deepen our learning from Friday.

If you’ve ever wanted to teach yoga, or want to compliment your regular practise, why not join us for this extra day of fun and knowledge learning. Learn more via our website;

The Food:

Friday – Lunch (for teachers in training) and Dinner

Saturday – Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Sunday – Breakfast and Lunch

All will be wholesome, nourishing and re-energising vegan meals. All dietary requirements can be catered for, just let us know in advance.
